Significantly improved night shooting ability of my iPhone 5. The difference between stock camera app and cortex is not huge, but very noticeable, especially on large screens. No noise whatsoever, better contrast overall. Very satisfied!

works like a charm, great for low-light conditions with the nex settings. thanks for the continous evolution of the app!
This app shines in low light conditions with stationary subjects. The people writing bad reviews about "no difference" are either trying to use it in good lighting conditions (when this app is not necessary), have crazy shaky hands, or dont know what noisy photos look like. Nice work... Apple should acquire you guys and integrate your tech in the next version of iOS!
Rather featureless. Despite claims of low-light condition support, didnt do much for night shots.
Cortex Cam is my secret weapon for low light still photographs! I always seem to blow my friends away with my results, especially with moonlit scenes or sunsets. (Making their grainy pictures just look silly) Keep up the awesome work!
The ones giving less than 5 stars dont have a clue as to how this app works, or when to use it. One reviewer said "Ill test it next time I go see fireworks." Wrong. In the description of this app, it says subject must be stationary for 2-10 seconds. Its a very clever idea and produces much crisper images with details that are often lost in the RGB noise that usually accompanies photos taken with the regular camera app. Great for low light, but also great for getting the most out of your pics during the day. For best results, use a tripod or rest the phone on something. Also, SUBJECT CANT MOVE! Sometimes processing time seems a bit long, but results are worth it. The only thing frustrating about the app is the images come out slightly cropped compared to the regular camera....but its still what you see is what you get in the viewfinder, so there are no surprises. If you cant tell the difference between a photo taken with this and a photo taken with the regular camera app, youre probably just posting pics of your drunk duck face anyway.
Was great. Latest update and it doesnt work at all. Disappointing!! iPhone 4 iOS 7. Front camera works. Rear camera doesnt and crashes
Though cortex cam used to be extremely slow, I loved how clear my pictures turned out in the end because they were so clear! With the recent update, I noticed a massive increase in speed but also a significant decrease in picture quality. My pictures went from being extremely clear to slightly better than my regular iPod picture quality. Itd be much appreciated if the picture quality went back to how it used to be.
This app is great, allows you to take some really fantastic photos! I only wish they werent saved out as jpegs. If it could do better than 8-bit (should be possible considering the technique used), it would really be essential for anyone wanting to use their phone as a real camera!
Definitely works better for indoor pictures than the stock iphone app. Probably not the best if subject is in motion but for stationary objects, its a huge improvement.
So worth the money, you can take MUCH better pictures and more crisp and clear ones. Definitely a must have for macro shots.
Low light photos are noticeably less noisy.
I dont write many reviews, but this app has absolutely floored me! I cant believe the quality of my low light images! Great job!
This app works as advertised and really does look noticeably great in low lighting conditions. Its not without its limitations: it sometimes has blurry areas in pictures and its not ideal for quick moving shots. If you want to take a great shot of a fixed object in low light, this app is wonderful.
See above. I love this app but it doesnt work anymore. :( Fix it please.
The app always crashes after launching the app, ever since Ive downloaded iOS 8 on my iPhone. Great app (thus the five stars) but please fix this problem!
Cant even start up the app. Crashes every single time since I updated to iOS 8. Please fix compatibility with iOS 8 please!
Nice low light camera app. One upgraded to iOS 8 the app wont run. Tried reinstalling but that didnt help. Im hopeful the dev is working on a fix.
This app definitely needs to be in the toolbox of any budding iPhotographer. It can capture more detail in general than the built-in camera app and is better at handling poor lighting conditions. This is not to say the it excels in all situations. Because it takes several seconds to capture an image (and several more to process it for viewing), the subject must be absolutely still. It also helps to have a steady hand (though CC can compensate for jitter to some extent), particularly if the subject is close to you. Since the camera operates in video mode, the field of view will be narrower, though in practice, I have not found this to be much of a limitation, as the iPhones FOV tends to be a little on the wide side to begin with. But when its on, its on! I have taken some photos with CC on an iPhone 5 that rival what I could manage with my Canon. I even took some photos of the moon once by holding the phone up to the eyepiece of a backyard telescope and they were not the blurry mess I was fully expecting. :) Since these limitations are based on the hardware (and perhaps the operating system to some extent), I see no reason not to give 5 stars to the developer of this app who managed to squeeze the most he could out of a phone camera. Nice work! Update: The app appears to crash on launch under iOS 8. I hope this can be fixed. Im missing it already... Update: The latest update appears to address the iOS 8 incompatibility! Thank you!
One of many I use and like for noise reduction.
